This took place many years ago in a rural high school that has since been torn down. I’m connected to the school custodian.
One evening he noticed that someone had punched a hole in the wall at the bottom of a set of stairs. He repaired it and was able to match the paint.
The hole appeared again in the same spot. Once again it was repaired.
Didn’t it happen again.
This time, when he made the repair, he used plywood instead of drywall. He braced the plywood. He crack-filled. He matched the paint.
A few days later the guilty student was easily identified. He was the guy with his hand in a cast.
