Recently I had the opportunity to spend time with some American tourists. Two of them were public school teachers. We shared some stories.
One was from Florida. She told a story about being on a field trip with a group of young students. She noticed a girl in grade one staring up at some turkey vultures. The little girl stood motionless for what seemed like a long time. She finally spoke:
“You know, if I could fly, I would be okay with being that ugly.”
“If you were born without wings, do nothing to prevent them from growing.”
